Services and other activities for Lent

We are continuing to meet online for services on Sunday mornings throughout Lent.

We also have special "Lent in a Box" pack offering prayers and some objects to pray with during Lent, especially if we're not able to meet physically in church.  If you've not received yours yet, do get in touch with Rev'd Kate (click this link to email), she'd be happy to send you one, especially if you can make a contribution to cover P&P (but if you can't, don't let that put you off).  Boxes have been sent to everyone on the electoral roll, and you can have a look at the prayer leaflet that goes with the box here.

We aren't running a specific Lent course this year, but there are plenty of online options available if you want to use Lent as a chance for renewing your relationship with God with that sort of discipline.  Recommendations include:

  • a weekly Lent course run by the Bible Reading Fellowship, based on their very successful "Holy Habits" resources.  You can link to the resources here, and they're running weekly Facebook sessions following up the videos where you can ask questions or follow up with comments.
  • Visual Commentary on Scripture are offering reflections daily during Lent, using works of art to help us reflect on a different theme of Lent each week.  Click here if you're interested in finding out more.
  • and this is the link to the "retreat" type Lent course that the BBC are supporting this year, offering a daily scripture reading and reflection from the Jesuit tradition - to explore that further, click here.

We'll provide more details of services for Holy Week here, just watch this space.
