Services and other activities for Lent
We have lots of things going on during Lent to help us prepare prayerfully for the great celebration of Easter. We'd love to welcome you to any of them, you can always come to try something to see whether it's right for you with no commitment.
Our regular services continue in Lent as usual, at 10am every Sunday and Wednesday.
We are also joining up with our friends at Queensbury Methodist Church to explore the Beatitudes - the "blessed are..." statements from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, told in St Matthew's Gospel.
We are meeting in our Parish Room at All Saints Queensbury from 11:15am on Wednesdays between 4th March and 1st April inclusive. Please use the entrance in from the car-park. We will finish by sharing a simple lunch together, and you'd be very welcome to join us.
If you can't come to the course, you can still be involved. We're encouraging everyone to follow a book of daily Bible readings and reflections, also on the theme of the Beatitudes. They're available for everyone; they cost us £3 a copy to buy, so if you're able to make a donation that would help us, but if not, you're very welcome to take one anyway. Available at any service or from the Vicar.
Stations of the Cross
We will meet every week in Lent to reflect on the traditional events at the end of Jesus' life, using pictures to represent them, with plenty of opportunity for silence. The service will not last more than 45 minutes in total, but we will stay to share tea and coffee after the service, and would be really pleased if you could come along.
We will hold the Stations of the Cross reflections at 2pm on Tuesday 3rd March and Thursdays 12th, 19th and 26th March, and 2nd April.
You would be very welcome to join us for any of these services and reflections, especially if you've never come to anything at All Saints' before. Nearer the time we'll also have details of our services for Holy Week and Easter, so watch this space.
